British Telecom

The End User "British Telecom" rented a warehouse unit on a short term lease, they required a three level mezzanine storage area and a free-standing, self-supporting Goods Only Lift, to raise and lower trolleys of components to and from each landing.

The conditions of the lease precluded the provisions of any form of civil work in the finished floors, requiring the lift installation to be surface mounted with access ramp.

Saxon carefully considered the application and specified a free-standing unit solution, operated by a single telescopic hydraulic mast, together with a special cantilever sling to provide a 150 mm closed height above finished floor level, accessed by a ramp.

Please note additional safety features were incorporated in the design to comply with BS5655 lift regulations, all subject to a dispensation from the H.S.E. and lift insurers.
